Featured authors at the 2019 San Diego Festival of Books, Joe Yogerst and Orange County surfing and culinary writer Jim Kempton will be discussing “Travel Planning: Places, Food and Facts” on Saturday, August 24, from 1:30 to 2:15 pm, in the Catalina Room at Liberty Station in Point Loma. After the talk, Joe will be signing copies his latest books — “100 Parks, 5000 Ideas” and “Nemesis: A Novel of Old California” — at The Book Catapult pop-up store. 

 

Joe Yogerst is one of four authors set to headline Indies First Day at Mysterious Galaxy bookstore in San Diego. Slated for Saturday, November 24th, the event celebrates the nation’s independent bookstores as well as the publishers and authors who stock their shelves.

In addition to signing copies of NEMESIS, Joe will discuss some of his recent reads and the books that have inspired his own writing, between 11 AM and 1 PM. Mysterious Galaxy is located at 5943 Balboa Ave Suite 100 San Diego CA 92111.



 

 

 92Y Author Series

(June 2018) Joe has been invited to speak at prestigious 92Y Author Series in New York City on October 12th. His talk — based on his writing in the recently published Taschen book “Around the World in 125 Years: Africa” — will revolve around National Geographic’s evolving photography and editorial coverage of Africa since 1888 when the magazine was founded.

 
 

 

Nat Geo State Park Series

(May 2018) Joe just inked a deal with National Geographic and The Teaching Company to write and host a 24-episode video and streaming TV series called “National Geographic and the Wonders of America’s State Parks.” The series will be filmed in the spring of 2019 for release in the fall of next year.

 


 

Chile Road Show

(May 2018) Six lectures and slide shows on Joe’s adventures in Chile — including Patagonia, the Atacama Desert, the Lake District and Chiloe Island.
